A Fall Day at Home

Here's a glimpse into our homeschool lives... We've been clearing out our garden lately, and needed to do something with our pumpkins; we had pie, and roasted seeds in mind... the kids wanted to try carving a few of the pumpkins, as they hadn't ever done it before. So, we all worked together, and got our various tasks done!

Pic 1. The pumpkins. Pic 2. Preparing to bake the pumpkin for pie filling. Pic 3. Taking out the seeds was obviously the kid's favorite part... Pic 4. The seeds are ready to be roasted! Pic 5. Pumpkin-face! Pic 6. One of the finished carvings. Pic 7. The second carved product. Pic 8. The third pumpkin. Pic 9. The three carvings together!

Pics 1 - 3. Pie crust art by myself and Carolyn, we enjoyed experimenting!

Pics 3 - 6. The end result!

The kids had a great time, and I've always liked how flexible a homeschooling schedule is; whatever is going on in life can become a great hands-on lesson that everyone can learn and participate in together!
